We Welcome You Here At The Catalyst

Assalamualaiakum and Dear All..
have you ever been wowed by ones because of theirs eloquence?? i realy have. and at that moment, i petrified. i just could imagine if i were them. but unfortunately i couldn’t, i am on my own to be that way. and i never be able to stop thinking of being the one who is excellent in delivering ideas,as those i mentioned above.
untill recently, on June 2007, i met toastmaster at my office from the brochures attached to the announcement board, and then i said "well, it may help me!!!".
Happy Toastmasters and guests.. something happened the next were i came to the toastmaster’s meeting and i found it interesting, i still remembered how cordially i was welcomed by TM Risna, TM Nafis, TM Olin and many others behind the door, i had a seat and followed the entire of that meeting, altought i didn’t understand the order of that meeting, i paid my attention toroughly at Evaluation Session, well i just concluded that there were no seniority here but ones involved, would help each other ,so that indirectly we still can monitor our progress, the things we should and the things we shouldn’t.. Ladies and gentlements..
having felt the benefits of joining Toastmaster, i just want to make it possible for others to feel the same. especially for those coming as a guests here.. why? because toastmaster will lead us to comprehend several basic principles in communication and leadership, two of several prerequisites in working world nowadays. and we will have friends to share ideas, to ask for inputs and to learn the projects. even sometimes, we get supports and inputs without asking them to do so.
in the actual life… To speak before a group comes as a nightmare if we are not used to practicing and it is an evitable thing since we frequently encounter many moments guiding us to speak. we cannot say "mmm…aa’aa’aaa…ehh" or doing nothing then getting lost.. we need to perform well in conveying the messages and the rapport will be formed. but how can we do that??again.. you don’t need to be worried, you will come to know how to go on when you really want a time-out for your speech in your special occassion, and Toastmaster will make it be real for you because in toastmaster’s membership there is no reluctence among us to discuss many kinds of difficuties or techniques assigned to us in each project we are completing. Dear Toastmasters and guests..
in many fields of our life, we always meet everything most in english, like or dislike , we are forced to deal with this condition, this situation indicates a thing, that is we must keep our english to make ourselves well-informed one, well then..Toasmaster itself, in my opinion, is a good and nice place to apply our ability in english, because it is an english-speaking club in which enable us to improve our proficiency including, speaking, listening and writing, and we do that on way we don’t realize, so we are learning in a cozy way. in communication,i had made a real difference by being persistent in following the toastmaster’s manual book, it teaches me how to communicate effectively and make sure that our messages are accepted well by the audiences. i reinforce my understanding about gestures, vocal variety and visual aid as determinant factors which can make our speech better indeed.
Well, Happy Toastmaster and guests.. is that all?no.. there are still more.. joining this club enables us to grow up our leadership skill, in every single meeting we can have an opportunity to run a certain role, and you know what? each role provides certain training for our leadership skill. such as the timer, subconscioulsly this role practices our skill at giving instruction about timeframe and about the time management, something we do every day, right?
it is nice to say that by serving as a VPM, Vice President Membership, allow me to learn how to manage this club’s membership and encourage every member to come to the meeting, else that i grab a chance to tell others about what toastmaster is. then, by doing those things, i practice myself to manage a club, to motivate members, to persuade someone else and to share the benefit of toastmaster’s membership to others.
ok, ladies and gentlements.. now.. you be the witness my testimony about the benefit i got from this club.. i have grabbed my turn… now it is yours… and we welcome you here at the catalyst.. Happy Toastmasters….
